Now You Need To Link Your Mobile Number With Aadhaar Card To Use It

We all know it! Modi led BJP government is trying hard to make Aadhaar the only unique-identity number required in India.

There are people claiming that giving informations like retina scans/thumb impressions is a serious threat to their society. Valid Point! Government need to take strong measures to protect these billions identities.

On the other side, without having proper data in hand, no one can solve a problem. Glad that the govt is taking serious actions to consolidate people data so that they can get a total control of people and make better decisions. But for that one actually need is proper data not just some data’s.

The Aadhaar campaign and it’s execution was very poor.  Even a cow in India can get an Aadhaar. What the heck!  And with these kind of squeed data govt cant make any good decisions. So the new govt decided to re-verify them all. How do we again drive a campaign and re-verify the data of billion’s in the country?

The Growth Hack!

The Govt now made Aadhaar must for new mobile connections. All telecom operators in India country now need to verify their users with Aadhaar based e-KYC before Feb 2018. Now that’s a strong initiative to push hard Aadhaar.

Sources says telecom players will collectively spent about Rs 1000Cr for this exercise. Now thats how a government do growth hacking! Hence, if you use a mobile and if you don’t have an Aadhaar card you won’t be able to use your mobile connection. So you need to take an Aadhaar anyway and you have a deadline too. Its February 6th 2018.

As per the notification from the Department of Telecommunication, all telecom companies need to inform about this new rule via electronic/print media’s.

How to Link Aadhaar card with Mobile number?

Foremost a SMS has to be sent by the operators to establish that the user is physically using the SIM card. The SMS will have a verification code , which will form the base of Aadhar based e-KYC.

“Only after this activity (verification SMS) the licensee shall proceed for the e-KYC process. The licensee shall then seek confirmation from the subscriber about the re-verification of his/her mobile number after 24 hours through SMS,” the notification released be operator says.

So if you are not doing this exercise and verify, then your connection will got terminated.
