Aadhaar, as one of the strategic instruments for social and financial inclusion, is an unique identity card which carries your demographic and bio metric information. First you have to find location of Aadhaar enrollment center nearby you. You can see the list of all the enrollment centres by visiting official UIDAI website https://uidai.gov.in/ . UIDAI is the authority which issues the Aadhaar card. Now from the UIDAI portal you can find the Aadhaar enrollment center nearest to you by clicking on 'Enrollment center search' option.
You have to download the Aadhaar enrollment form from the website. Now fill the form accurately which requires details such as your Name, Address, Date of birth etc. Non mandatory details such as Mobile number and e-mail id can also be provided for easy and fast receiving of updates afterward.
In case you can't download the enrollment form online you have always an option to collect it from the enrollment center.
Kindly carry your required address and identity proofs with yourself while visiting the enrollment center. UIDAI accepts from 18 proof of identity documents and 33 proof of address documents. You can check all of the authorised documents list on the UIDAI website.
At the enrollment centre you have to provide your biometric details which includes your all 10 fingerprints scans, 2 iris scans , and a facial photograph.
After all the processes done, you are provided an Aadhaar enrollment slip which carries your enrollment number along with time and date of your registration.
It takes about 60 to 90 days for UIDAI to verify your data and after that you will be sent SMS about Aadhaar status on your phone as well as the printed Aadhaar card to your registered address via Speed post.
One can visit the enrollment center if the card has any errors or anomalies. You have to present the enrollment slip before the authorized agents and get your Aadhaar data corrected.
